Good Causes
In addition to providing and maintaining Harpsden Village Hall and the playing field facilities, the John Hodges’ Trust for Harpsden Hall also offers financial support for local causes.
In particular it focuses on the relief of financial hardship, either generally or individually, of people living in the wider community of Harpsden, Henley and Shiplake.
Each initiative is considered by our Good Causes Committee with the Objects of the Charity in mind and for its likely social impact on our area.
Recent initiatives have included the Citizens Advice Bureau, the d:two Family Centre and the Disabled Regatta in Henley. The Charity has helped with counselling services and Emotional Literacy Support Assistant training at a local primary school as well as supporting pre-school activities and the development of junior involvement in local sports clubs.
New proposals which seek financial support will be considered and are always welcome.
